Happy Anniversary!

I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it (anywhere I go, you go my dear; and whatever is done only by me is your doing my darling)
I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world (for beautiful, you are my world, my true)
And it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
And whatever a sun will always sing is you.

Here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree of life; which grows higher than a soul can hope of mind can hide)
And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart.

I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart). - E.E. Cummings

I am truely blessed to have you in my life. I am looking forward to many, many, many more!

I love you, my darling!

Christmas Pictures

We had Addison's Christmas pictures taken a few weeks ago. I was so proud of my little Chica! She did such a good job. No fussing, no fighting. Just perfect little happy smiles all morning long! I can't believe how big my little girl is getting!

This one is my favorite. I can't wait to put this one on the wall. It shows all of Addison's cute little faces and personality.

Yes, Santa! I HAVE been a good girl!

Sorry about the pictures being so pixilated. I wasn't willing to fork over the extra $100 to own the copy right. So this is what JC Penny gave me to put on my blog.

Look-Alike Meter

For those of you wondering which parent Addison looks like, the results are in. I am waiting for a real DNA test to be preformed to find out if I really am her mother. Since I think she looks NOTHING like me!
(Haha, do ya'll like that the only picture I have of Randy by himself is from our wedding day? Doesnt' he look so young and handsome?)

Ear Wax

Addi makes me laugh so hard!
This morning, she went around the house singing "Ear Wax, Ear Wax" in her sweet little sing song voice. All the while she had my little makeup applicators sticking out of her ears like Q-Tips. Needless to say, I won't be using those again!!!

Holiday Craft Ideas

I am hoping that Santa thinks that I have been a good girl and gets me a new camera. My old camera has been a good friend and has been there when I've needed it...until now! My poor camera has died.
If you don't mind, let us have a moment of silence for my camera.....................
R.I.P. My good friend!

Moving on, here are a few of the Holiday crafts that Addison and I have done together.

This first one is one that we did at my mom's house in honor of Thanksgiving and the turkey that leaves our bellies full.

Take 1/2 graham cracker, put a little (or a lot in my case) chocolate frosting on the graham and then place a striped chocolate cookie and 1/2 a small almond joy on the frosting. I also put frosting between the cookie and the almond joy so that the cookie wouldn't fall over. Then take a little colored frosting on the almond joy for eyes and a waddle. And there you have it, your own little Turky Lurky.

Addison and I did gingerbread man cookies at Grandma Beth's house and then again at Aunt Nancy's. The first picture is Addison's little man and the second is Mama's little man. I think Addison's turned out better than mine. I'm a little jealous!

I Believe in Santa Claus

I am trying to make traditions for our little small family and one of them is going to see Santa Claus. Isn't this every one's family tradition?
The first year with Santa, Addison did great. She was only 6 months old and didn't cry.
Last year, we couldn't even get a picture with Santa. I don't know who was more afraid of who. Addison with Santa or Santa with Addison.
This year, I kind of thought it would be a repeat of last year, but surprisingly it wasn't. Okay, that is not quite true. One day while Randy, Addison and I were in Walmart, they had a Santa there that you could sit on his lap and get a picture with. Addison tried to be a big girl. But when it came time to sit on his lap, she cried and cried and cried. She knew that she shouldn't cry with Santa. So whenever his name came up, she would say "Addi cry with Santa".
The next time we saw Santa, my Mom, Addison and I were at the 'mall'. I say mall loosely because if you have ever been to the Logan mall, you will not that it is not much of a mall. Anyway, we were waiting in line and Addison was doing really well. She even went up to Santa and was good with him. Until I walked away so that she could get a picture with him. Then she started to cry. I thought that maybe if Santa gave Addison one of his candy canes, then she would stop crying. This Santa was more of a Grinch. He said he wouldn't give her one until she sat on his lap. We decided that it wasn't worth making Addison cry, so we got up to leave. That is when Santa's heart grew two sizes that day. He said that she could have a candy cane. Once Addi got her candy cane, I told her that she needed to tell Santa 'Thank You' and give him a big love. After she gave him a hug, she was brave enough to sit on his lap for a picture. I was so proud of my big, brave girl!

PS. If you can't tell, Addison has her 'happy face' on!

Ghost Light

Tonight as Addison and I were leaving Grandma and Papa's house, Addison found a "Ghost Light". In Addison speak, a ghost light is a search light. We found one in the parking lot of a sports store that was having their midnight madness sale. (And no, it was not midnight when we left my parents house.) As we were on our way to find the ghost light, I could hear Addison talking in the backseat. She was saying "Where are you ghost light? I'm gonna get you. Tickle, tickle, tickle." I was laughing so hard. She is so funny!

For your entertainment, here is "Mater & The Ghost Light"

Date Night

This is what date/movie night looks like at our house.
First, you have to get food that you know your child won't eat. Randy & I decided to go Thai.
Who doesn't love Green Curry (Besides Addison)?

Second, you have to get the right movie. Addison chose "Daffy Ducks Fantastic Island" circa 1983.
(I think she chose this movie because of the green curry incident.)

Thirdly, you have to get popcorn and snuggle with the daddy.
Fourth, you need to tell mommy "GO AWAY!!!"

Fifth (and this is the key to a very successful date/movie night) you have to eat the popcorn right out of the bowl just like a puppy! This is a very important step that you must not leave out!

Addison was showing off all of her faces.

This is her "happy" face.
This is her "sad" face.
And this is her "silly" face.
Addison has many face and I love all of them!

In the Spirit of Thanksgiving

I know that I am a little behind. But, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I would like to reflect upon some of the things that I am most thankful for. The first and most important thing that I am thankful for is the Lord, Jesus Christ. Without him I am nothing and I have nothing. The second thing that I am most thankful for is my husband. He is such a strong individual. He loves his family more than anything and is willing to make sacrifices for us that I don't know that I would be able to make. I am so thankful for my beautiful little girl. She is the sweetest, most loving little girl. Not a single day goes by that I don't laugh my guts out because of her. She is such a little joke-ster and tease. I can be in the worst of moods and she will do something so sweet or funny to lift my spirits. I love her with all of my heart! I am grateful for the house I have to live in and the clothes that I have to wear. I am grateful for the food I have to eat and that we all have our health. I am grateful for all of our friends and family and all the love and support they give to me and my little family! Thank you for all you do for us! We love all of you!!!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought I would share this video with you.

Happy Halloween!

{It is after midnight, so I am going to keep this post short and sweet!}

This year, instead of carving pumpkins, we used these "Build A Pumpkin" sets from Pottery Barn. I think they turned out REALLY cute, if I do say so myself!

I thought my porch turned out really cute! (Is that vain?)
Can you see how proud Addi is of her littel pumpkin? I love her little smile on her face!
(And yes, that is the same costume she wore last year. It was just as cute on her then as it is now!)
Addison went trick-or-treating for the first time this year. (Last year, we went to the local grocery store and Walmart - I had just had surgery the week before.) So this was new and fun for her. These pictures are of both the grandparents house. When we went to the neighbors, she hit about 5 houses and let me know that she was ready to get back to her daddy!
I think my little Peacock did a great job and got saying "trick or treat" down REALLY quick! She even tried it on her dad a few times!

Pumpkin Spice Cookies

This afternoon, my mom and dad came over to bring us some bananas. Why? You ask yourself did my parents need to bring us bananas? Because Addison was throwing a fit for them and she ate our last banana last night at 11:30 PM. Again, you may be asking yourself "Why did they have to bring you bananas? Why didn't you just go get them yourself? Why? Why? Why?"

Answer: Because Addison is on day five (5) of a fever.

The cause of the fever is unknown. I took Addison to the doctor on Tuesday and the doctor told me that he didn't know why she had a fever. (Gotta love those doctors!)
He said that it could be because
(a) she has a bladder infection - I have changed some REALLY wet diapers, so I am thinking that it is not a bladder infection.
(b) she is having appendicitis - no vomiting, so probably not that either.
(c) she has roseola/sixth disease - we are on day 5 of a fever and no rash yet, so I'm assuming it is not that either.
or (d) she has swine flu and there is nothing they can do for her until she has had at least seven (7) days of fever.

So, we are back to the bananas. Addison was throwing a fit for them and I try and be the responsible parent who doesn't take her child out in public when she knows that her child is sick. (Doesn't it tick you off when parents take their kid to...let's say McDonald's and let their said kid slobber and sniffle their little boogers and germs/cooties all over the play apparatus when they know that their said child is sick?)

Anywho, my parents showed up on my door with bananas for Addison and some ingredients to make the easiest cookies...EVER! My mom and I pulled the following recipe off of my Aunt Deon's blog.
They were so yummy that I hope she doesn't mind me sharing! (wink, wink)

THE EASIEST(!!!) COOKIES IN THE GALAXY

Morris Family Pictures 2009

First off, please let me thank our super, fantastic, amazing, energetic photographer Betsy for ALL the time that she spent taking these photos and cropping and editing them.
These pictures of Addison show her little personality. She is such a little teaser.
Awww...how sweet! Our little family!
More of our precious angel!
This is a photo of the WHOLE Morris Clan...all 42 of us!!!
Lets just say our photographer was very patient with getting us all to sit still at the same time. (That and she knows photoshop! LOL)
This picture is of Randy, his siblings and his parents. Aren't they a good looking bunch?

I am already looking forward to next years pictures! :)

Peek-A-Book

We love books at our house. I can not walk past a book store without feeling a magnetic pull. The other day as I was walking past a book store, minding my own business, I saw the clearance stand. This particular clearance stand was full of SUPER cute children's books. We happen to love playing with Fisher Price Little People at our house so when I saw this particular book, I just knew that I had to have it. (The $2.99 price tag didn't hurt either!)

Addison and I went on a little field trip with Papa and I pulled out this book to entertain her. Needless to say, it was HUGE hit! At one point, she started to call this flap book her "peek-a-book". I couldn't help but laughing! She is such a little smarty pants! I have a sneaking suspicion that she gets her smarts from her daddy! :)

Smurfette

The other day, we were at my mom's house and she gave Addison some Princess fruit snacks. The only color that Addi would eat were the blue ones. My funny little girl does not like to keep her tongue in her mouth. (She thinks she's a puppy!) This evening was not so different. I started laughing because her tongue was blue. Addison ran to the mirror to check out her tongue and after that, it was ALL down hill. There was NO WAY that we were going to keep that tongue in her mouth. She loved her blue tongue SO much that she even posed for picture!

FYI: For those wondering, I canned 29 quarts of tomatoes the other day. I would post pictures, but Randy had my camera with him. (Sorry, I'm pretty proud of myself! I know, being prideful is a sin, but what do you do?)

Southfork Ranch

When we went to Dallas in March we visited Southfork. For those of you old enough to remember, Southfork is the home of 'Dallas'. I remember watching that show when I was a kid with my mother and waiting all summer long to find out who shot J.R..
These pictures are a little old (March) but I am trying to figure out how to make collages for my blog. I'm still learning, so bear with me, please!

Salsa or Tango?

I wanted to make salsa this, but with money being tight, I thought I should probably forgo it this year. So far, we have gotten the fruit that I was able to can this year off of my parents trees.
My little brother and his wife thought that they should pay me back for watching their kids (which is like getting paid twice, since I love those little girls to pieces), so they put some salsa together for me. They had to leave and do some family things, so they brought me the salsa in the roasting pan and told me to cook it all day. It was actually quite fun and I've enjoyed all the canning that I've learned how to do this summer. Bret & Jamie told me that the amount of salsa they put together would make about 15 pints.

I was kind of a dork and bought half pint bottles instead of pint size. I had so much salsa to can that I had to borrow another wet pack canner or else I was going to be at it all night.
All in all, I we got 28 half pints of salsa. I think there is probably enough there to last me until...um lets say Christmas! :)
Look, Addison's magic!

Butter

The other day without any prompting Addison told me that she wanted "butter". I had to ask her again what she wanted. Again, she said she wanted "butter". I had to ask her three times what she was asking for. Each time, she would say "butter". Finally, I was like "You want butter? Toast with butter?" She said no, she wanted "baby butter"!

No, I am not pregnant! I wanted to post this, so when we finally do give Addison a brother and she says she doesn't want him anymore, I can tell her she asked for it!

**Disclaimer**

Sorry about all the photos in the next couple of posts. I just can't ever seem to narrow them down when I go to put them online!

Froggy

The highlight of our Kansas trip was catching a frog. Addison and her little cousins caught this frog all by themselves and just had a blast playing with him.

Show mommy the frog.

Froggy is trying to escape. I would try harder, if I were him!
This is what it looks like to be a frog and be squeezed to death by a two year old!

Think you can get away from us frog? Think again! Three against one! Even the baby is in on the action
Don't you get away from me, frog!

Aunt Cheryl found pity on the frog (probably because I was hyperventilating, because the kids kept throwing, dropping and jumping on the frog) and put him down the drain. I have a feeling the frog is sitting at the bottom of the drain thinking "Aw, peace...finally!!!"
