Flaming Gorge

Randy, Addison and I like to take drives.  We generally go for our drives on Sunday afternoons.  It is a great way to get out of the house without spending any money. (Except for the cost of gas, of course.) A couple of years ago, Randy and I went on a drive up to Flaming Gorge and saw some Big Horn Sheep and haven't seen any since.  This past Sunday, we took our weekly drive and ended up at Flaming Gorge. I love Flaming Gorge!  (I think Flaming Gorge is probably one of the prettiest places around Vernal to see.) Anyway, we turned off Red Canyon Loop and we saw a herd of Big Horn Sheep right off the side of the road.  It was perfect, because the sheep were on Addison's side of the car.  I rolled down her window and Addison started squealing and laughing with delight.  I told her that they were sheep and asked her what a sheep says, but Addison kept looking at me all confused and would say "Moo".  (Please refer here to see what a sheep looks like to a year and half year old.)

I love that my daughter loves her daddy!  I love that her daddy loves his daughter!

I love the view from this vantage point.

What a cute picture!  I love this picture of Randy and Addison together!
When it was time for us to leave, Addison DID NOT want to go.  She kept trying to run to the sheep. (Which kept terrifying her mother.)  After a few rounds of bucking and kicking on Addison's part, we got her into her car seat.  As we drove home, Addison kept crying and saying "Moo".  Finally, Randy turned to her and said "I know honey.  It is sad, but we will come back and see them again.  I know they miss you too!" I couldn't help but laugh. What a cute daddy!

Cleaning Lady

So, I was cleaning the house one morning while Randy was home.  I have found that it is MUCH easier and quicker for me to deep clean while he is home and can watch Addison, than it is for me to try and do it all by myself.

Addison has seen me vacuum a hundred times, but this morning, she wanted to do it...all by herself!

My vacuum is very old and VERY heavy so she wasn't having much luck with pushing it around, but she sure did try!!!  Thanks for the help Addison.  I really appreciate it!!!

Next, I'm teaching her how to clean bathrooms :)

Dinosaur Museum

Addison and I went to the Dinosaur Museum with some other moms and their kids from the Vernal Moms group.  We had a really good time.
Here is Addison climbing on their couch type things in their reading room.  It is just a little room set up with a table and some books and these couch thingers. (Sorry, I don't know what they are called.)

They have a little window that you can look through and see fossil bones.  Addison thought that was really cool.
Here is a better view of what Addison was looking at.
Here is Addison with her friends Wyatt and Jackson at the table in the reading room.
Oh my, what a big dinosaur you have!

Addison and Wyatt posing for pictures. (I am not fast enough for Addison. She NEVER holds still long enough to get a good picture!)
Again...reading!  That is what this little girls likes to do best...read!
At the museum, they have a fossil on display and you have to choose what type of fossil it is.  Addison was a pretty good guesser.
But Mom!!!  I want to TOUCH the dinosaur!

This is Addison saying "turtle" in sign language.  (Again, I was not fast enough with the camera to actually catch her saying this properly!)
And here is the turtle.

Wholly Mammoth

Addison's new thing is drinking fountains.  She has to drink out of every fountain she sees now.

If you look closely, you can tell that there are a lot of different ducks on display here.  Addison LOVES ducks and birds.  She wanted to get right up close and touch them.
And what dinosaur museum would be complete without a display of a bear?
How cute is she?  I think Addison had a really good time because we got home and she crashed!

Shaun The Sheep

I just have to take a minute and brag about how smart my child is.  This morning Addison and I had the TV on while we were getting ready to go to the gym.  Addison likes Disney Play House in the mornings.  At about 2 minutes to nine every morning this show "Shaun The Sheep" comes on.  Addison really likes it.  This morning, the show came on and she jumped right off my bed and ran into her playroom.  I thought this was kind of odd, because she really likes Shaun.  After about 15 seconds, Addison came running back into my room holding her little play sheep from her "Little People Farm".  I thought that was pretty smart of her to correlate the two together!  So here is a picture of our little Shaun!

My friend Sarah has the cutest blog called Mrs. Delightful.  She always has helpful hints and food and craft ideas.  Sarah gave me the "Friendship Award" on her blog (Thanks Sarah!) with the instructions that I turn around and give this award to five of my friends.

Nap Time With Papa

I left Papa in charge one morning while Addison and I were in Logan, so that I could get my hair cut. And this is what I came back to.  Papa sitting ever so still whilst Addison slept at his side.

Look at that little face!  I just love how sweet and innocent she looks.  Addison love, love, loves her Papa!!!

Girl's Only Weekend

My cousin Brooke is having a little boy and was having her baby shower in Salt Lake & Los Angeles via iChat.  I thought this would be a good excuse for the girls to get together in Salt Lake and play.  It ended up being just Grandma, Brooklyn, Addison and I because Jenni didn't want to go to the baby shower and Jamie had to work.  But we still had a lot of fun the four of us!
The girls each got designated a chair.  Addison couldn't sit in Brooklyn's chair and vice versa or it would be war!

Brooklyn was playing with the TV armour and couldn't get it open. She told me that it was broken.  I told her that since she broke it, she would have to pay for it.  If you look real close, you will be able to see the dollar she put on the armour so it could get fixed!
Jamie and Sierra met us in Salt Lake on Monday morning and we all went to the Children's museum.  As you can see from the pictures, Addison thoroughly enjoyed herself again.  (No, these are not the same photos from the last discovery museum post. Addi just likes the same toys!)

All in all, we had a great time.  Thanks Grandma and Brooklyn for a great weekend!
Maybe next time we can get ALL the girls together for a real girl's only weekend!!!
