{Sad Socks}

Addison told me the other day that her socks were sad because they were dirty and that if I would wash them, it would make them very happy!

{I have decided that I am going to start blogging Addi's cute little stories so that neither she nor I forget them. Please feel free to leave comments on them, or not. Just letting you (the reader) know.}

Cake Decorating, Pt. 2

This week, I came to cake decorating class a little bit more prepared. I was adamant that I was not going to make the same mistakes as last week!

I can not for the life of me figure out the "Wilton Rose" though. I can get the base down, but the tip is driving me CRAZY!
Every week we learn a couple more techniques. This week we learned how to make cute little drop flowers (my mom is really good at these!), shells, figure piping (heads and faces). I decided to make a clown cake.
Even before I left the house, Addison saw the clown heads and started saying "My clowns! My clowns!" (With a two year old, everything is "Mine, mine, mine"!)

Addison was so excited when I got home. She couldn't wait to look at the cake! I am surprised that she didn't demand cake at that very moment!
Here's hoping that next week turns out as well as this week!

Cake Decorating, Pt. 1

This was my pathetic attempt to decorate a cake!!!
I am taking the Wilton Cake Decorating Class Course 1 with my Mother, brother Bret and his wife Jamie.
I say that this is my pathetic attempt because I was having so many problems with my cake.

First, I couldn't cook the cake to save my life. When I tried to move the cake, it would fall apart. When I would try and take the cake out of the pan it would fall apart.

Second, I couldn't frost the cake. I misread the instructions and used medium consistancy frosting on the cake instead of the thin consistency.

No wonder it was not going on the cake very smoothly. But after many attempts at baking a cake and then doing a second coating of corrected consistency on the cake, this is what turned out.

Stay tuned for next weeks installment of cake decorating for dummies with Jenifer!

Hopefully by then I will be able to read instructions correctly!!!

Broken Resolutions

Everyone seems Gung-Ho this time of year about listing their New Years resolutions.

Well, I am a realist. I know darn well that if I make a resolution, I am going to break it. So I am going to share with you some of my past resolutions...all in which I have broken. Just keeping it real people, just keeping it real.

DIET...um yeah, thats a joke!

STOP EATING CHOCOLATE...who was I kidding with that one?

HAVE MORE PATIENCE...that one lasted about 2 seconds.

MAKE A WEEKLY DINNER MENU...well maybe, just maybe, I like going to the grocery store four times a week...so THERE!

SAVE MORE MONEY...Wal-Mart would be VERY upset with me if I had stuck with that one.

HAVE MORE SELF CONFIDENCE...I wasted my pretty years thinking I was fat and ugly. If I only knew...if I only knew. I still avoid the bathroom mirror on the way into the shower.

STOP BEING A PESSIMIST...but my glass is half empty. If you fill it up, I will be happy.

TRY TO REMEMBER PEOPLES NAMES...oh, I am sorry, what did you say your name was???

Well, I am sure there are a thousand more resolutions I forgot. Oh, that's another one...HAVE A BETTER MEMORY!

Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas!
I got this little nativity for Addison last year and it has been a huge hit! She loves Baby Jesus!

Randy and Addison made breakfast for us before we opened presents. Mama knew that there would be no way Addison would eat after she opened her toys. And, I was right! It was too hard to tear her away from them to go visit the rest of the family. There were some tears involved!
Addison even got to put chocolate chips in her pancakes. Her daddy spoils her!
Once we finished breakfast, Addison ran straight to her stocking and starting pull out all of the fun little gifts that Santa had left her.
Randy got a bowl for us to put our candy in. As soon as Addison saw all the candy in the bowl, she immediately started saying "Happy Halloween"!
Happy little girl! She loves her "Little Pet Shop" toys!
Addison's little BFF Wyatt sent her the cutest little Princess pillow. It is her favorite thing! She won't even let her dad touch it! (Which means she REALLY likes it!)
Addison got dress up clothes from both her mom & dad and her grandparents. This is Addison putting on the ones from mom & dad.
This is daddy playing dress up. Doesn't he look FABULOUS!!!
Check out the loot! I think someone got SUPER spoiled!!!

Christmas Eve 2009

I know that it is now 10 days after Christmas, but since my camera died I had to rely on my mom to take some fantastic pictures for me. I finally took my computer over to my mom's house to download the pictures.
Please note that these pictures were in fact taken on Christmas Eve. The date stamp on my mom's camera must be off.

Here are some fun pictures from our Annual Blaser Christmas Eve get together. The name sounds fancier than it really is. It is usually just our little Blaser family that gets together, but it sure is fun! This year, it was Uncle Corey (in Addi speak "Tory"), Aunt Jenni (Denny), Papa, Grandma (Damma), Randy, Addison and myself.

Here are Corey, Jenni and Addison getting into the Christmas spirit with Santa ears. Don't they look fantastic?

Prepping for the Christmas Buffet. Way more food than any of us could really eat!
Here is proof that Addison does really eat. She licked about 16 meatballs before she decided that she didn't like them. She subsequently put them back on the tray and mom had to eat them before someone else ate her pre-licked meatball! I am pretty meatballed out!
We frosted sugar cookies for Santa.

Here are some of the blue ribbon winners.

Jenni's turned out really well. I tried copying her cookies and mine turned out less than great!
These are Corey's vampire cookies. (His wife Jenni is a major Twilight fan, can you tell?)
Papa's Pirate cookie. If you would like to know the story behind this one, you'll need to ask him!
Addison got some really cute Christmas jammies with Santa on them. This is what the scene looked like when I tried to get a picture of her in them. It was WAY past her bedtime!
We left some lovely cookies and carrots for Santa and his Reindeers. I forgot to get a picture of the empty plate and crumbs on Christmas morning, so you'll need to use your imagination for that one! :)
We hope that everyone else had a fantastic Christmas holiday! I know we sure did!

Please click on any of the images to make them bigger.
